Great Campground. Lots of room, friendly and helpful staff, and convenient to shopping. Wal-Mart 3 miles away. Bathrooms are clean and well maintained. A little bit of interstate noise didn't dampen a good weekend of camping. We shall return!
Mosquitoes, mosquitoes, mosquitoes! We arrived about 4 pm and we were swarmed with hungry mosquitoes. The Park ranger said the thunderstorm we just had brought them out. They never went back in the entire weekend. The dirt road had huge mud holes and they were full of water. Most of the campsites were average size and all sand. We did see a few concrete pad sites. There is a boat ramp and a store nearby. The store wasn't well stocked, but seemed reasonably priced. Canoes and kayaks are available for rent. We won't return because there are so many more campgrounds in Florida we want to visit.
A very nice state run campground. Lots of trees and dirt roads. Most sites are level. There is a lake with seasonal fresh water fishing and right around the bend there is a salt water inlet/boat ramp. The campground is well maintained and repairs are made very quickly once reported. We were there for over a month and enjoyed every minute of our stay.
Plenty of trees close to the roads making it difficult to drive, especially during the hours of darkness. I didn't like the fact that they made a copy of everyone's driver's license or ID card in order to stay at their campground. They used the excuse "it's a Homeland Security requirement". The showers were hot, but dirty. Black mold in the cracks and on the shower curtains. The campground is very convenient to tourist attractions and plenty of shopping nearby. We don't plan on returning to this campground because there are so many more in Florida to visit!
This is a very scenic park with many activities for all. We camped for the Holiday weekend and went to the races at Daytona International Speedway (22 miles away). They definitely need to make some improvements. The bathrooms and showers were very dirty and lacked privacy. The outside shingling was rotting and falling down. The dirt roads had large holes. Several trees needed their branches trimmed. The water hook ups on at least 3 sites were leaking. We camped there in a Class C Motorhome in July 2005 and would camp there again, but there are too many other campgrounds in Florida we want to experience.
